Who doesn’t wish they read more? Even though we are finding ourselves surrounded by more and more words thanks to the Digital boom, fewer of use are actually finding time to read these words. Our goal is to change that. Whether you’d like to read more, faster, or new material, here are some great apps to get you started.

instapaper

Instapaper

Instapaper is the simplest way to save and store articles for reading: offline, on-the-go, anytime, anywhere, perfectly formatted. Instapaper for mobile device (iOS or Android) provides a mobile-optimized Text view that makes reading Internet content a clean and uncluttered experience. Save most web pages as text only, stripping away the full-sized layout to optimize for the iPhone and iPad screens. Read offline, even on airplanes, subways, on elevators, or on Wi-Fi-only devices away from Internet connections. Even better, you can send to Instapaper from 150 other iPhone and iPad apps for reading later.

Syllable

Syllable helps you learn to read much faster, and helps you finish your Instapaper and Pocket articles you’ve been meaning to get to. With the skills you learn from using Syllable, you’ll be able to read articles, novels, textbooks or really any kind of reading much, much faster. Syllable helps to reduce subvocalization by taking articles/text that you give it (via URLs, Instapaper, Pocket, your clipboard, or typing) and pacing through them at a predefined rate, one at a time. By doing this, you’re not giving yourself the chance to say the words, as you’re forced to follow the pacing. As you get more and more comfortable, you can increase the pace that the words show and soon you’ll have multiplied your previous reading speed significantly.
